CAREER SPECIFICATIONS
A Level Technician $70K - $100K+/year
Flat Rate Master Tech preferred minimum OBD II certified, ASE Certification.
Sign on bonus available up to $5,000 based on experience, training, certification.
B/C Level Technician $45K - $70K/year
Flat rate OBD II certification preferred, ASE Certification a plus. NYSI Inspectors Licence a must.
Sign on bonus available at Manager's discretion.
Express Service Technician $30K - $45K/year
Hourly position experience preferred but not required. Basic tools provided and training available. Basic computer skills, fast paced environment. Valid NYS Driver’s License. NYSI Inspectors License preferred.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
Currently 7 technicians, 3 Service Advisors, 1 Express Advisor, 1 Dispatcher, 1 Service BDC/Rental Coordinator, 1 Warranty Administrator, 1 Cashier, 4 Parts Department personnel, 3 Detailers.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
M – Thurs 7am – 6pm Friday 7am-5pm Saturday 8am – 4pm. Shifts are 7am to 5pm M-F and 8am – 4pm Sat on rotation
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
Lia Nissan of Saratoga provides all special tools mandated by Nissan North America. Two Hunter tire changers, two Hunter tire balancers, two State Inspection machines and a Hunter quick check. Technicians must provide their own hand tools.
What type of break room facility is provided?
Our break room has A/C and heat, Refrigerator, Microwave, Toaster, Keurig coffee maker and a soda / snack machine
How many bays does your shop have?
12 Bays, 6 New lifts, and 1 Hunter alignment rack
How many repair orders do you average per month?
750
What is your parts ordering process?
Technicians work directly with our parts department to order the proper parts for each vehicle they work on.
What is your policy on side work?
No side work is allowed to be performed at Lia Nissan of Saratoga
Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?
Team focused environment, all staff members are encouraged to assist each other and most importantly be customer focused. Our shop is kept clean, our equipment is inspected by our staff daily, any damaged equipment is locked out and repaired and or replaced as quickly as possible to keep our staff as safe and efficient as possible.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
All technicians are required to complete Factory training via online training and classroom training. We will pay for your ASE Certification.

Can you describe your performance review process?
Service Management continuously evaluates their team’s performance and offers coaching and or feedback on a regular basis.
What type of safety training is required?
All newly hired employees will be safety trained via ENYCAR.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
All newly hired technicians work in the service bays next to our shop foreman until they are comfortable with the shop, our policies, and procedures. Younger/apprentice technicians will work directly with the senior techs.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
Lia Nissan of Saratoga is involved in our local BOCES and HVCC job fairs to encourage interest in the automotive field and employment at Lia Nissan of Saratoga.
Where do you see the shop in five years?
As a continuously growing shop we hope to increase our business and staff to properly service our customers' needs. The Saratoga/Malta area is a fast-growing community. Many global companies investing in this area will bring higher demand and continuous growth to our store. The next 5 years look very promising for the growth and potential at Lia Nissan of Saratoga. We are going to be starting a dealership remodel soon to expand our service and parts departments to provide even better service to our customers.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?
We do have an online application and it usually takes less than 10 minutes to complete.
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
Applicants are screened by the hiring manager and then an in person or phone interview is scheduled.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
One on one question and answer with the hiring manager.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
Background and MVR are conducted prior to offer and with hire being contingent to outcome.
